The CMS Remote Center at DESY is one of several CMS centers worldwide. The main purpose of the centers is to allow CMS collaboration members to remotely participate in CMS operation tasks, especially in DQM shifts and sub-detector specific operation work. This is assisted by excellent communication and computing infrastructures. At DESY, the center also serves as the main source of information on CMS and LHC operations for DESY CMS group members, but also for other DESY employees and visitors.
