For PostDocs
We invite applications for postdoctorate fellows to perform research within the projects pursued by our group. The work will be performed in intense collaboration with experienced staff members and doctorate students. The projects are detailed in the following:
- Play a central role in the analysis of the Higgs → ττ decay mode, where the τ leptons decay leptonically into either e-ν-ν or μ-ν-ν final states. This analysis is sensitive both to Higgs production as expected in the SM and within the MSSM.
- Determine Higgs quantum numbers at 13 TeV centre-of-mass energy in the ττ decay mode, where at least one tau lepton decays hadronically.
- Play a central role in the VH( →bb) analysis. This analysis measures Higgs properties in production and decay, and will provide differential results, in particular under the Simplified Template Cross Sections scheme.
- Play a central role in the heavy Higgs search in the H( →bb) channel. This analysis searches for heavy Higgs bosons of an extended Higgs sector, as predicted in MSSM 2HDM models. The main task is to help with completion of the Run 2 data analysis, and the preparation of the Run 3 analysis, investigating e.g. the impact of machine learning methods.
For Ph.D. Students
We invite applications for PhD students to perform research within the projects pursued by our group. The work will be performed in intense collaboration with experienced staff members and PostDocs. The projects are detailed in the following:
- Participate in the Run II 13 TeV Higgs → ττ analysis. Determine mass and couplings of the Higgs boson discovered at 125 GeV in the H → ττ decay channel with the focus on final states with one electron and one muon. Contribute to the development and validation of the tau identification algorithms used for identification of hadronic tau decays.
- Participate in the Run II 13 TeV Higgs → ττ analysis, focusing on final states with both taus decaying semi-hadronically. Determine the Higgs CP quantum numbers in this final state. The physics analysis will be accompanied by work on the development and validation of the algorithms used for identification of semi-hadronic tau decays.
For Bachelor and Master Students
We also invite students to write their bachelor or master thesis on one of the various topics our group is working on. The work will be performed in intense collaboration with experienced staff members, PostDocs and Ph.D. students.
